National Portfolio Day

Get feedback on your portfolio

National Portfolio Day is an interactive educational event for artists held regularly at host colleges throughout the U.S. and Canada. National Portfolio Day gives you the opportunity to meet with experienced college representatives who will review your artwork, offer critiques, discuss your college plans, and share information about their schools. National Portfolio Day is not about examination or competition. The reviewers are there for your benefit—to talk with you about your work, learn about your development as an artist, and provide you with helpful information for the next strategic step in your education.

Why you should attend

If you are interested in studying art or design at the college level, attend a National Portfolio Day. The event will give you a taste of what it would be like to attend a professional art program. Most important, it will provide you with a key opportunity to explain your creative process and talk about where you want to go with your work.

What you should bring

  • 15 to 20 examples of your work, including your best finished pieces.
  • Sketchbooks and works in progress.
  • Photographs of works that are awkward to transport—we will have a laptop available for review of work.
